As part of the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, Ontario’s new electronics regulation on January 1, 2021.

The policy shifts Ontario to an Individual Producer Responsibility model, overseen by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority.

Producers may choose to include the program’s cost in the price of their goods or charge a per-unit recycling/environmental management fee.
